Kaat Mossel

Sailing trips on a traditional clipper

What does Kaat Mossel have to offer you?

Because of Corona-circumstances things might be different. Please, ask your questions: Question?

The two-mast clipper is a beautiful, graceful, but also lively sailing ship.
Below deck you’ll find a comfortable and cosy guest room with a well-equipped galley and several levels which make it possible that, when sitting at the breakfast table, one has a free view to the outside. Because of the roof hatches, the cabins have optimum daylight.
All this, in combination with excellent sanitary facilities, makes that a group up to 20 persons
can enjoy a multiple-day sailing trip.
The ship has a capacity for day trips up to 29 passengers.

With its spacious front deck, ample mid deck and broad quarter deck, you’ll always find a nice spot to relax and enjoy.
The extra charm of being on the quarter deck is that the skipper often will be quite willing to tell all kind of interesting things about the ship and its way of sailing. And, if possible, you can even be behind the helm yourself and experience the feeling of steering a mighty ship.

As for group travels you can either choose for catering or take care of your own meals.

In 2013 the sailing travel agency “Sjakzeilreizen” bought the Kaat Mossel in order to extend the company.
Past experiences are a guarantee for adventures, sociability, the creation of lovely anecdotes/story’s and relaxation as well as excitement during races.
Whether you sign on as an individual or as a member of a group:
“Come enjoy”is the motto!

Sailing skills are not required in order to have a good time aboard, only the willingness to lend a hand. The crew will ascertain that everyone gets his share of the cake and is able to participate in a pleasant and safe way.

Sailing areaThe sailing area:

The sailing area includes the Markermeer and the IJsselmeer with all the picturesque places like Enkhuizen, Medemblik or Makkum The (West) Frisian Isles are very popular, as well as the inland waters of Friesland and Overijssel. If you have seen this all, then an inside sailing trip via Amsterdam, Zaandam and Alkmaar to Den Helder will be worth wile.
On the other side, a round of Groningen, via the Lauwersmeer is wonderful as well.
Another challenge, dependent on the available time, is sailing to Zeeland.
When the wind and – whether or not – the tide are on our side, we can make it all happen!
In short: a vacation, a study trip or project week aboard of Kaat Mossel makes you forget all your daily worries and that you will have an incomparable time.
